MONOLITHE is an experimental short movie relying on body language and tension.

Film and music: Jean-Sébastien Monzani
Performance: Iris Barbey & Valérie Léchot

For better quality, I strongly advise to watch the DivX version or the file on Vimeo: [link]

@02:30Wow. AT the risk of sounding like a fool, I felt like the film was speaking on abusive relationships. The "unknown" figure takes something of value, and the "innocent" keeps trying to get away. The cloaked figure reveals a little more of themselves, and then tries to keep the innocent in place. I am not sure if this is what you were going for, but it is a very beautiful piece of Art you have created here. I have never seen a short film that has had such a thought provoking impact on me. Amazing.

@02:30Thanks a lot! It's always a pleasure to read others' interpretation, my work is made for that :)

@02:04You could have done the fall more in slow motion, but this is really a perfect film!

@02:04Thank you :) To do slow motion, you need a slow-motion capable camera, which I don't have :)

@02:30This is great! I get inspirations just from watching the last part.
Eh, somehow I feel that that stone triangle is like... something that controls the human, and makes them mindless.
Puppets.
I think the black figure (male?) took it and took her place in becoming a higher being's puppet.

@02:30Thank you :) The black figure is a woman but we used an androgenic mood on her.

@02:30A few cm above the ground actually looks wonderful, I'm wishing you'll make a film about it. But hey, you're the one who makes the films, not me.
The two photos are wonderful. Honestly, I'm getting a lot of inspiration from those two pictures ^^
