I love the dream-like texture you create - unsettling without being terrifying. Your use of acted slow motion gave a really cool effect, with hair & such still falling 'naturally', but the bodies not.

@02:30Wow. AT the risk of sounding like a fool, I felt like the film was speaking on abusive relationships. The "unknown" figure takes something of value, and the "innocent" keeps trying to get away. The cloaked figure reveals a little more of themselves, and then tries to keep the innocent in place. I am not sure if this is what you were going for, but it is a very beautiful piece of Art you have created here. I have never seen a short film that has had such a thought provoking impact on me. Amazing.

@02:04You could have done the fall more in slow motion, but this is really a perfect film!

@02:04Thank you :) To do slow motion, you need a slow-motion capable camera, which I don't have :)

@02:30This is great! I get inspirations just from watching the last part.
Eh, somehow I feel that that stone triangle is like... something that controls the human, and makes them mindless.
Puppets.
I think the black figure (male?) took it and took her place in becoming a higher being's puppet.

@02:30Thank you :) The black figure is a woman but we used an androgenic mood on her.

@02:30A few cm above the ground actually looks wonderful, I'm wishing you'll make a film about it. But hey, you're the one who makes the films, not me.
The two photos are wonderful. Honestly, I'm getting a lot of inspiration from those two pictures ^^

@02:30^_^ thanks. This can't work as a movie, backlight like this only last a few minutes. Also, when throwing the balloons, we had to very quickly gather them so that they don't float away ;)

@02:30Actually, with high-quality cameras, you can record in slow motion, but I don't have easy access to this kind of equipment (or, at least, I should pay a camera-operator while renting the camera)

@02:30Hello,

I read all the comments :)

I think each of us see in his/ her way. It is about personal perception ( of life, experiences, persons etc).

Perception and projection...

There are a lot of meanings... Felt-sense...

When you work with emotions is wonderful and full of sensitivity.

Wonderful!!!

Art is emotion, not a thing.

@02:30A real gem. Totally love your style of filming. And it's really interesting to read all the different interpretations,so why not add mine as well ;-) for me it'S a dance between life anddeath, or rather life with death. Or vice versa. The performers are really great!! thanks for sharing!

My thoughts on this -

It's about how we handle life and its options. We often let others control our lives, sometimes not even knowing it [thus the person in black has
face covered by a veil]. Then we fall to those decisions and controls and and let opinions and decisions of others rule over us; over our whole being - sometimes letting it raise us up, sometimes waiting to see us drop and sometimes guiding us and supporting us.

Then, later in life, we most often gain control of ourselves; we get independent, or almost, breaking free, but sometimes letting the opinions still control us in our minds [thus
person stands behind the black veiled one], and often, we are till the end not sure or insecure about decisions we made ourselves [thus the blurry view/vision].

Well this is my take on it. :)

"David Lynch's STRICTLY BALLROOM"

Very, very pretty with great use of sound. What sort of camera was this? A Canon 5d Mark II?
